Watching My Son Dream - Poems by Jean Lempert
My Grandmother, Jean Lempert, wrote poems in the late 1940's and early 1950's. Most of the poems are about her firstborn son, my dad, Eugene C. Lempert. I compiled everything she wrote into a poetry book.
Here's a sample poem from the book:
Worms
My daddy says he likes the worms
Because they help the flowers grow.
My mommy says she likes them,
Though just why she never seems to know.
But when I find a juicy one
And bring it in the house to crawl,
It seems to me quite likely
They don't really care for worms at all.
